Evansville Sunrise Pump Station and Cascade Receives 2023 Aim Community Placemaking Award
Located in Evansville, Indiana, the Sunrise Pump Station and Cascade serves as a multifaceted asset to the community. Designed with a peak pumping capacity of 40 mgd, it includes site piping and diversion structures to route flow from the gravity flow sewer to the new pump station, variable speed controls for all pumps, electrical and control equipment in an unrated space, an emergency generator system, and an automated control system with telemetry compatible to the Utility’s existing SCADA. The effluent is pumped via two force mains over the Ohio River levee and discharged to a cascading aeration structure. This, combined with the facility’s beautiful design, unique learning opportunities, and integration into a community park, make it the perfect candidate for the Aim Community Placemaking Award it recently received.

In the latest release of the Engineering News-Record’s (ENR’s) 2023 national rankings, Donohue has once again demonstrated its industry prowess by securing a spot in the Top 20 within the wastewater treatment plant category. This noteworthy achievement marks the company's ninth consecutive year of maintaining its presence in the top echelon of wastewater treatment rankings.
Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Hosts Water-Themed Student Art Contest
The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility recently hosted a “How Much Do You Know About H2O” Student Artwork Contest for students from Lincoln School, Evansville Day School, and Signature School. Entrants were invited to submit artwork that depicts the importance of water in everyday life.
Holland Area WRF Anaerobic Digester Project Receives ENVISION Gold Rating
Donohue & Associates worked with the Holland Board of Public Works (HBPW) to construct an anaerobic digester at the Holland Area Water Reclamation Facility. The project recently received an ENVISION Gold rating for sustainability.

WLSSD’s Oxygen Supply Improvements Projects Wins ACEC MN Engineering Excellence Honor Award
Donohue & Associates and Western Lake Superior Sanitary District (District) received a 2023 ACEC Minnesota Engineering Excellence Honor Award for the Oxygen Supply Improvements Project (OSIP) at the water resource recovery facility. The project team worked closely with District personnel to develop a solution that was cost effective, reliable, and energy efficient.
William E. Ross Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase 1 Improvements Project Wins ACEC IN Engineering Excellence Honor Award
Donohue & Associates and Richmond Sanitary District (District) received a 2023 ACEC Indiana Engineering Excellence Honor Award for the William. E. Ross Wastewater Treatment Plant Phase 1 Improvements Project. The District selected Donohue to serve as their engineering consultant to prepare a Facility Plan for Secondary Treatment Improvements.
Steven Points Liquid to Dried Biosolids Conversion Project Wins ACEC WI Engineering Excellence Best of State Award
Donohue & Associates and the City of Stevens Point, WI received a 2023 ACEC Wisconsin Engineering Excellence Best of State Award for the Liquid to Dried Biosolids Conversion Project at their wastewater treatment facility.
