This roundabout on CTH N is the first in Outagamie County. Constructed by the County with a local force account and using Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) dollars, the roundabout replaced the stop signs at the intersection of Buchanan Road and CTH N. With an average daily traffic count on CTH N of 14,000, traffic back-ups and personal injury accidents were common in one of the fastest growing areas in Outagamie County.

Constructed for approximately $313,000, the roundabout was designed to fit the existing difficult topography with pedestrian amenities, storm sewers, and curb and gutter. In addition, the single-lane roundabout accommodates the current two-lane rural road and will be easily modified in the future as CTH N becomes a four-lane urban road.

“Roundabout construction was completed 1-1/2 weeks ahead of schedule and $30,000 under budget. It seems to be working great.  I am very pleased with everyone's efforts. Please pass on my thanks and appreciation of a job well done.”
