Drinking Water Overview

Donohue & Associates has elevated its drinking water capabilities with the acquisition of Alvord, Burdick & Howson, L.L.C. (now referred to as AB&H, A Donohue Group). AB&H has completed thousands of drinking water projects and has been involved with leading water technologies since its inception over 100 years ago. In 1917, AB&H wrote its first report on the use of ozone in the treatment of drinking water. Our staff are also well-versed with technologies such as ozonation, membrane filtration, ultraviolet disinfection, and modern trenchless technology.

We recognize the difficulties faced by water producers as they try to meet the challenges of changing regulations, increasing operational costs, aging treatment facilities, applying new technologies, and limited funding availability for making plant improvements. We have earned a reputation for planning and designing facilities that are functional, easily operated and maintained, and cost-effective.

With our experienced staff of engineering professionals, Donohue and AB&H, A Donohue Group, can help water utilities meet the challenges of providing safe, pleasing, and economical drinking water. Our areas of expertise include:

  • Treatment Plants
  • Water Storage
  • Pumping Stations
  • Transmission Mains
  • Distribution Systems
  • Metering
  • Corrosion Analysis & Control
  • Intake Structures
  • Raw Water Transmission
  • Hydraulic Modeling
