Donohue’s Ed Nevers and Chris Shaw from the City of Appleton co-presented at this year’s Wisconsin Water Association Annual Conference and Expo which was held September 19-21, 2012 in Appleton. Their presentation, Appleton’s Water Source: Lake Winnebago Intake Improvements, explained what happened during the City’s frazil ice events on their intake and how they dealt with the emergency water-supply limiting situation. It goes on to explain how they were able to make short-term improvements as well as evaluate the best long term solution to address these events.
